Paul states in this chapter that there is no middle ground, we cannot be neutral. We have to choose a Master because we will serve one or the other. Do we want to be a weapon of wickedness fighting against God? Or do we want to be a weapon of righteousness fighting against sin? We have to come to a crisis moment and make a choice.

Jesus comes to bring peace. For those who exclude others and use the Church for their own gain, he rightly and angrily gets rid of them. For those who refuse to understand that peace with all is His plan, He weeps for their souls. Challenge yourself today to become what He wants you to be! Let Jesus change you and transform into His image!

Midweek Bible Study - Romans 5:12-21
We have a choice, we can choose to still live a life in the shadow of Adam, a life that leads to death. Or we can choose a life in Christ, a life that leads to eternal life. The law was just a way for us to see our transgressions, not a cure. Jesus is the only cure, it is our choice if we accept that gift.

When Jesus is our Lord, there is nothing to fear. The fear we feel is from the devil and the world. God gives us His power and love so that we can have self-control in the face of that fear! Be encouraged and encourage others! This literally means “to put courage in!” Love well!

In Romans 4 Paul makes his argument that God gifts us righteousness through faith not our good works. Paul brings up a forefather of faith, Abraham. Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness while he was a Gentile. Against all human reason for hope Abraham hoped on in faith. How can we as believers celebrate the God who promises impossible things and brings them to pass?

The Power of the Resurrection
The power of the resurrection is a power that we have available to us as the life of Christ is lived out in us! Just as God grants life to Jesus, Jesus gives us true life as the Spirit fills us. Don’t wait for heaven to experience the power of the resurrection. Live in that power now!

Identity in Christ
Our identity must be found in Christ, not in our personality or our past or our family. When we identify with Jesus in his death and resurrection, we find freedom and hope to say no to sin, selfishness, and pride. We are also able to partner with Jesus in his mission from the Father.

A Time To Repent
We repent for ourselves and for our community. God calls us to seek justice in our world and we should be involved in that work. Let’s work together - confessing, repenting, and serving - to bring the love of God to those around us.
