Repentance
Repentance is the key to true forgiveness, which is the key to true life. This Nazarene Article of Faith follows the command of Jesus to repent of our sins. This means so much more than just feeling bad. We must be led to repentance by the Godly sorrow that we experience. The Good News is that God will forgive everyone who repents!

Trusting the heart of God
God asks us to trust His heart in situations that don’t make sense to us. He also asks us to trust Him with our heart. He is calling out our name and asking for us to give Him the broken pieces so that He can make beautiful things.

Prevenient Grace
Prevenient Grace can be broken into three parts: Godliness and our moral responsibility, our natural inability, and Grace that is freely given. We were created perfect but fell from that perfection due to our free will yet God still gave His Son to to save us from ourselves!

The Atonement
So many Christians treat the gift of Jesus’ blood like they treat a forgotten birthday gift. They play with it for a few minutes or days and then they stick it in the corner and forget about it.
The only way to have a relationship with God is through Jesus! Those are Jesus’ own words and He tells us that so that we will accept the grace and mercy from His death on the cross and be reconciled to the Father!
Jesus’ blood is our Atonement that pays the price for our sins. Accept the mercy and grace that comes with that and you find your salvation! For the blood of Jesus Christ is enough to wash away every sin!

Sin, Original and Personal
Adam and Eve were created be an unmarred, unblemished image in relationship with our Creator. Because Adam and Eve bent towards being self serving and self centered sin entered the world.
Original sin and Personal sin are different but as Wesley said "love will exclude sin". If we love God in the way that we are suppose to all other relationships will come in line. There must be a presence of love in the Holy life that God calls us to.

The Holy Scriptures
The Bible points to Jesus. No matter where you open it up and start reading, it will always point to Jesus!
Let the Holy Word of God guise and direct you to find and follow Jesus Christ. He will transform you through the reading of the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit into who He wants you to be!

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit, the Third Person in the Triune Godhead helps us stand “heart to heart” with God. We can have not only an everlasting life but a wholeness of life if we are obedient to the prompts of the Holy Spirit. We need to be willing participants though and learn what the Holy Spirit is trying to teach us.

Jesus Christ
The apostle Paul used this expression of faith 164 times in his writings. The key phrase in this passage is "in Jesus Christ." Jesus gives us a life of spiritual deliverance, anticipation, purpose, direction, and unlimited possibilities. Most importantly, He gives us victory over death and the grave!

The Triune God
The Triune God, sometimes referred to as the Trinity, is vital to our daily lives. God loves us so much that He sent Jesus who died on the cross for us and rose from the dead. Now, the Holy Spirit has been sent by the Father and the Son in order to empower followers of Christ to live out lives of faithfulness to Him.
In our worship, which includes our daily lives, we must recognize all three elements of GOD. The over emphasis of one leads to a negligence of another. Let God speak to you in every way He has chosen - Father, Son, and Spirit.

Jesus is the Resurrection
Our District Superintendent, Reverend Kim Smith, taught us that resurrection power was available before Jesus rose from the dead and is still available today! Jesus IS the Resurrection! So, wherever He is, there is new life. What area of your life needs a new touch from Jesus? Let Him make you new today!
